Main Purpose:
The Cycle Count Supervisor plays a pivotal role in maintaining accurate inventory records within the Distribution Centre. Responsible for leading and coordinating cycle counting activities, this position ensures that discrepancies are identified and addressed promptly. The Cycle Count Supervisor will work closely with the warehouse team to optimize inventory accuracy and support overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Cycle Count Coordination:
- Plan and execute regular cycle counts in accordance with established schedules.
- Coordinate and lead cycle counting teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the counting process.
- Analyze cycle count results and investigate discrepancies to determine root causes.
Inventory Accuracy:
- Implement and maintain best practices to enhance inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with inventory control policies.
Supervision and Training:
- Supervise cycle counting staff, providing guidance and support.
- Train team members on proper counting techniques and adherence to company procedures.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment within the cycle counting team.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely cycle count reports to management.
- Maintain detailed documentation of cycle counting activities, investigations, and resolutions.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in cycle counting procedures.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to implement enhancements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Receiving, Shipping, and Inventory Control teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to address cross-functional challenges and promote overall operational excellence.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and cycle counting procedures.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Education:
- Senior Certificate or equivalent required.
- Additional education or certification in inventory management or related field is a plus.
